This is the home page for my SEARLE family history research.
Acknowledgments
I have received a lot of help and encouragement in producing this web site from a number of people all of whom I would like to publicly thank.
Gary Lee for his support and excellent help and patience which has been unstinting, and without whom my ideas would never have reached the web. Pete Rainger for his help and advice particularly in understanding the Tree programme and links. David Thrale for providing both the inspiration and later critique. Thrale.com remains, in my opinion, an example of a brilliantly simple and effective web site design. David, believe it or not I have listened to your comments. Roger Stokes who is author of "Woodbury - the Twentieth Century re-visited" for kindly giving me the picture for the Woodbury page and for his comments. Deborah O'Brien for the help and advice and transcript. My new relative Barry Godbeer in Canada who has helped complete part of the tree and gave me idea of using GEDHTree.
Also Louise, Robert , David and Kate who did not help me, but for whom this is dedicated who sat around churchyards and outside record offices on holidays with out demur - well almost. Finally but definitely not least to my dear wife Margaret for first getting me hooked on this wonderful adventure.
